He's been talking
To himself again
And maybe he oughta
Take a handful of your medicine
Cool him down, help him to breathe
The clean air, we all need
Soothe his lungs, with the breeze
Filled with salt from the surf of the sea
Hey, oh
Just keep hangin'
From the line
Hey, oh
They tell me he's out
On the loose again
He's the constable killer
And he's comin' to take his revenge
He don't love, he don't bleed
At least that's what we're taught to believe
He's just as frail, as you or me
He's an agent of mortality
Hey, oh
Just keep hangin'
From the line
Hey, oh
Now he's vanished
Gone away again
To his hideaway home
Out from the reach of the law and it's men
He's gone, and made peace
With himself, for his deed
He's absolved, of his need
To feel guilt for the souls that he freed
Hey, oh
Just keep hangin'
From the line
Hey, oh
Hey, oh
Just keep hangin'
From the line
Hey, oh
Hey, oh
Hey, oh
Hey, oh

Angels
02:48
|
|||
Saw them comin' today
All the pretty angels
From the sky to play
But not to pray
Still others rose out from the snow and sand
To lift me up in their earthen hands
So gently I was flown
Past moons and wraiths, and stars of stone
As they took me to their home
The grass was blue, and all the skies were green
It was so surreal, and yet so serene
A sweet divine scene
The loveliest angel stayed to keep me warm
With the light that shone from her spectral form
She whispered in my ear
I met her gaze, and she drew me near
And shook us both with her fear
The beautiful angel, I touched her hair
It gave me chills, but I don't know where
Heard her laugh - a sing song cry
It sounded like love, and suicide
I watched them take her, but she left me her wings
Those angels, they were such pretty things

I have a casket
Made out of stone
I watch it shatter
On the
Jagged stairs
So far below
He has a whisper
Made out of thread
That spiders spin to
Tangle
Up their prey
Within their web
We have a slipknot
Fixed 'round our throats
Inverted rosary that
Will not die
For those it chokes

That rusty head in the shower, it poured itself out in the tub
Made the linoleum curl off in strips that looked like old ticket stubs
But the disposable blue just kept looking at you
Didn't cut quite as deep as you wanted it to
But no matter how you holler, how you shout
That pretty girl up in the attic ain't never comin' down here
To let you out
That hook called to you saying "come down and hang from my rung."
Used the upside-down rosary so you didn't disturb anyone
But that hook on the door couldn't take it no more
It left you passed out on the hardwood floor
And no matter how you holler, how you shout
That pretty girl up in the attic ain't never comin' down here
To let you out
Those nightmares in the basement, they kept you from coming back for more
They just drove you to madness, now you're stuck here banging on the cellar door
But no matter how you holler, how you shout
That pretty girl up in the attic ain't never comin' down here
To let you out
That lovely white lady you met took you in by the arm
You spoke with her too long, 'cause you wanted to do yourself harm
She gave you nosebleeds and hate, and she kept you awake
But the service you requested didn't quite take
No matter how you holler, how you shout
That pretty girl up in the attic ain't never comin' down here
To let you out
No matter how I holler, how I shout
That pretty girl up in the attic ain't never comin' down here
To let me out
Pretty girl you don't even have to kiss me,
If you want to let me out

Rain Like Snow
02:43
|
|||
He gazed outside, where raindrops poured
So he reached deep within his dresser drawer
To find the drugs that killed his mind
The empty thoughts that killed his time
He took them in the rain like snow
The rain like snow
The prescription pills, in their orange can
Were all tucked safely in the palm of his hand
To melt his thoughts, and sharpen his brain
He took them every morn' of every day
Washed them down with rain like snow
With rain like snow
The paint chips scattered on the floor
From all the times he slammed his bedroom door
They piled up, like drifts of snow
To cover him in bitter cold
Frigid as the rain like snow
The rain like snow
The rain like snow
The rain like snow

White Noise

The White Noise, he never knew
She told him boy, I'm gonna come, come for you
Tell you tales of silk and sirens
So sit in rapture sit, sit in silence
He listened to her sermon on the mountain
Mount Cyanide with its poison wells and fountains
Full of cold and bitter condensation
From which they drank as they made their nighttime conversation
The White Noise, she heard him coo
She told him boy, I'm gonna come, comfort you
Sing you songs
To keep you calm
And I will hold your thoughts that pass away
And I will keep you safe and sound
And I will keep you safe and sound
Oh I will keep you safe from sound

Apostate
03:17
|
|||
I'm a harmless apostate
Who dissolves, who tends to dissipate
In the light
'Cause the moon's my midnight puppeteer
Who stares down from the stratosphere
In the sky
She's a silent melody
Like some old forgotten memory
In my mind
She's beautiful, she's crystalline
She's pretty, and she's so pristine
In my eyes
I won't go to sleep, 'til it hurts
And I won't go to sleep, 'til I hurt
